Engaged in thrilling activities like hiking, snorkelling, and cycling. Saw Heraklion International Airport nearby, which was so convenient. Explored Red Sand Beach, a whole 1.8 km away. Also had free wifi, thank goodness, or social media withdrawal would've been a tragedy.
Oh joy, can't think of a single thing I didn't like, I mean who doesn't love rocky parking lots and rental car damage surprises after dark! Just delightful!

The accommodation had a wonderful garden, perfect for our children to play and explore. The free WiFi was a great bonus, allowing us to stay connected during our vacation. The shared kitchen facility was a real lifesaver, providing us with the convenience of preparing meals and snacks for our hungry little ones. We also appreciated the tour desk, which helped us plan and book exciting fishing trips in the area. Such an enjoyable experience for the whole family!
My children wanted more indoor activities at the accommodation.

Spacious rooms without kitchenettes, shared communal kitchen, powerful A/C. Pleasant surprises include complimentary cake, oranges, toast, and coffee for guests. Great value during busy Matala music festival. Friendly and helpful host.

I had a wonderful stay at a cozy little hotel in Matala. The room was spotless and well-maintained, with tasteful decorations that made it feel like a home-away-from-home. Despite being a bit of a light sleeper, the thin walls didn't bother me at all. The owner was friendly and helpful, even offering a slice of delicious homemade cake in the morning. The location was perfect, just a short walk away from the bustling beach area, but far enough to enjoy some peace and quiet. I highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, friendly atmosphere, and great value for money.

The countryside surrounding the property was absolutely breathtaking and provided a serene atmosphere for relaxation. It was a short and pleasant stroll into the nearby town, which was charming and enjoyable to explore. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Plus, the complimentary treats like spanakopita and cake were a delightful surprise that added an extra touch of hospitality.
The Wi-Fi signal in the room was a bit weak and unreliable. Although not a major concern when on vacation, it could be slightly bothersome for those needing a consistent internet connection.

The rooms at Alexandra's Filia Rooms were clean and comfortable, with an upstairs balcony and a shared kitchen facility for breakfast and drinks. The location was convenient, with a bus stop nearby for easy access to attractions like Phaestos and Kommos Beach. Alexandra herself was incredibly welcoming and helpful, making us feel at home during our stay.
Felt free to seek any assistance, no reason to complain.

This budget accommodation is located in a peaceful area surrounded by mountains, ideal for those seeking tranquility. the rooms are clean and well-maintained, with a helpful and friendly staff. the spacious communal kitchen is a convenient feature, and there is a cozy sitting area outside. the location is a short walk or drive away from the main beach and there is ample parking available.
The outdated equipment and uncomfortable beds may not provide the most comfortable stay.
